SmartScore

SmartScore is an international certification for smart buildings developed by WiredScore. WiredScore is an established certification system specializing in the evaluation of digital connectivity in real estate. It assesses fundamental aspects of IT infrastructure, such as fiber optic connections, Wi-Fi coverage, and redundancies, to ensure the digital functionality of a building.

The certification system includes a comprehensive scorecard that analyzes user functionality and technical requirements. Features such as adaptive control systems, IoT sensors, and digital connectivity are evaluated. The process consists of several steps, including data submission, independent expert reviews, and on-site inspections. The results are based on an objective evaluation of building technology and its applications.

The certification is applied to smart office and commercial real estate, including new developments, existing buildings, and redevelopment projects. It facilitates the integration of digital technologies, improves operational efficiency, and supports sustainability goals such as energy savings and CO₂ reduction.

SmartScore can be combined with other certification systems, such as LEED and WELL, to enable a holistic assessment of building characteristics. This combined approach promotes integrated strategies for sustainability, wellbeing, and digital future-readiness.

Through standardized evaluation criteria and support for innovative technologies, SmartScore plays a key role in advancing smart buildings and driving the sustainable transformation of the real estate industry.
