Using the Energy View

The Energy View allows users to display consumption data for an entire year or individual months. The selection of years or months is done via the time picker. Next to the time picker, users can switch between different sensor types, add new sensor types, or select them for comparison.

Once a sensor type and time period have been selected, devices associated with that sensor type will be displayed. In the table below the chart, users can select from the various devices offering the selected sensor type. If multiple devices are selected, their consumption values are aggregated.

If an additional sensor type is added, a new table will be displayed. When users select devices in the different tables, the consumption values of these devices are shown side by side. This enables a direct comparison of consumption between different devices and sensor types.

Configuration

The analysis utilizes sensor data from meters that have been marked with the permanent retention policy. When this flag is active in the sensor configuration, all incoming data is stored for more than six months.

To set the flag, add "retentionPolicy":"PERSIST_FOREVER" for the respective sensor type in the sensor configuration of the device.

During setup, each device can be assigned a meaningful description and linked to a building or area. Once configured, users can easily access and review the device’s analysis for detailed insights.

To ensure accurate and legally verifiable billing, only data from permanent sensors is used for the analysis. These sensor types are pre-filtered, so users can only choose from predefined devices.

If the user adds the "influenceArea" in square meters in the sensor configuration, the consumption can be calculated per area. When the influenceArea is set, the square meter toggle becomes available.
